The Kitchen
The kitchen at Bakewell Holiday Cottage contains everything you need, whether you want a quick snack or are creating a full roast beef and Yorkshire pudding lunch. Along with a slow cooker which you can fill and set ready for your return after exploring the Peak District.
The cooker is brand new and was installed during 2020. We purchased the cottage at the beginning of 2020, and we spent lots of energy trying to clean the previous cooker and finally asked our selves the question – would we want to cook our food in it ? – the answer was no and so we decided to opt to purchase a new oven! This philosophy applied to much of the items in the kitchen. Those items that still had life in them, but unfortunately not matching anything else were given to a local hospice.
So most of the kitchen utensils, cutlery ceramics and glasses are new for 2020. The crockery is from Denby Pottery (Denby pottery is not far away and you could take a visit to their factory shop whilst staying at the holiday cottage); utensils from Joseph, Joseph, and a glass for most occasions!
The kitchen contains a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer ( there are 2 – one is new during 2020) plus all the pots and pans and utensils you will need – and of course a bottle opener!
If cooking is not for you – there are many takeaways close by – Fish & Chips, Chinese, and Indian are all within walking distance. The holiday cottage is also within walking distance to the pubs in Bakewell many of which sell food.
